Audio Engineer

Prescott Studios is looking for an experienced Audio Engineer. Your main responsibility will be to set up, record, and/or mix sessions for Prescott Studios
You should be familiar with setting up and maintaining audio equipment, enhancing audio with the appropriate sound effects, fixing sound-related issues, and working in a studio environment mixing/editing music and dialog content. The Audio Engineer should be creative and passionate about delivering a story through sound. The ideal candidate will be someone who can balance many projects and shifting priorities while communicating clearly and delivering on time.
People who excel on this team are positive, kind, self-motivated, flexible of thought, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and a drive to problem solve.
This position reports to David Prescott.
Responsibilities:

Work alongside artists, managers, and producers to meet audio production needs

Ensure that final audio mixes are consistent with the overall vision

Ability to bring in new customers to Prescott Studios
-
Creative and knowledgeable in the concepts of audio recording
-
Proficient in technical aspects of audio, including Pro Tools, vocal tuning, editing, and mixing techniques, and more
-
Problem-solver, ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment of production that can be caused by unforeseen factors and artistic changes in direction on a project

Continuously researching to stay on top of technological advances and how to apply them

Efficient time management skills and able to work with a deadline

Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
-
Proficiency with Pro Tools and other DAWs
-
High level of familiarity with digital audio recording equipment and software
-
Experience with recording and mixing
-
Proficiency with Mac computers and OSX operating system and cloud storage
-
Knowledge and interest in current trends in audio engineering technology
-
Ability to adapt to ongoing changes in processes, priorities, tasks, and workload

Articulate, thoughtful written and verbal communication

Able to work independently or with a team

A quick, willing, and curious learner

Prescott Studios is looking for an in-studio intern. Your main responsibility is to help with any tasks around the studio and help out in sessions whenever needed.
You would also be responsible for contributing to assisting in marketing Prescott Studio. This would be as directed by the studio manager.
Responsibilities

Perform various tasks around the studio as directed by the studio manager

Help in setting up and breaking down at the beginning and end of sessions

Learn signal routing for setting up microphones and channels

Contribute to marketing for Prescott Studios as directed by the studio manager

Help in maintaining a clean and tidy environment

Learn how to set up recording sessions using Protools

This is a non-hourly paying position at this time. However, this specific position can be discussed as a barter agreement where we trade your time and efforts for free studio time. Alternatively, you can be paid for customers that complete the session at Prescott Studios (see affiliate program below)

Affiliate Program
We make it easy for you to make money through Prescott Studios
Once you sign up, you will receive $35 for the first time you bring a new customer to Prescott Studios providing they have never been a previous customer, and have not been already communicating with the studio. Additionally, they will receive 5% of each session going forward with that specific client. Other restrictions apply.
